Does It Matter Who Installs Your Avionics??
The way your avionics are installed is as vital as the
equipment itself. Your first concern should be the options
you want. The second is the grade of wire, circuit breakers,
relays and other hardware. The third is where you can get
your avionics installed so the finished job looks and
performs up to your expectations. One of the worst avionics
nightmares is the “intermittent” problem, often caused by
sloppy installation and wires behind the panel running
randomly in every direction. There are many factors that go
into planning a good installation. First, how the new
avionics will interface with existing equipment. Second,
location on the panel. Third, antenna location. And Fourth,
future equipment needs to hold down the cost of future
upgrades. You wouldn’t let just anyone overhaul your
engines. You should choose your avionics installer as
carefully too.
